Passionate About Inspiring Others
The thoughts that plagued my mid-twenties were, envy, hurt, failure, despair, and darkness. I turned to alcohol to manage the depression and it only trapped my mind in that hell. Christmas 2014 was when I had decided to end it all. Alcohol and a bottle of pills was how I was prepared to stop the overwhelming feelings of worthlessness. With the pill bottle ready in my hand, I drank myself into a stupor. I prayed my mom would forgive my actions and passed out. The next morning, I woke to a closed pill bottle and the best hangover I have ever had because I was alive!
It has been a journey of growth to climb out of my darkness and depression. I became a Hip Hop instructor, choreographer, a four-time semi-pro football champion.
My lowest moments gave birth to the passion to educate and motivate others out of their dark places. Now I am the president and creator of the non-profit, Project Lyfe.
Project Lyfe focuses on the prevention of youth suicide through education, movement, and community support. Healthy mental and physical techniques are taught by local volunteers to provide youth with essential coping skills for a life time.
Suicidal thoughts are a consuming darkness where death seems like the only option to stop the pain of living. We are all together in this fight for our youth. It is only together that we can succeed.
